The FBI is investigating a home invasion murder that left a man dead in Cutler Bay.

It happened just after 11 p.m. at a home along SW 222 Street and SW 99 Avenue last November.

Investigators said the victim, his wife, and an acquaintance were at the home when the wife left to run an errand. When she came back, several people jumped out of a Dodge Ram van parked near the driveway and rushed her. The husband, 31-year-old Daniel Macko, opened the door to all the commotion when the intruders came inside and ransacked the house.

The FBI said the acquaintance heard the intruders say they had found something and started to leave. On the way out, authorities said they shot Macko several times. He died at the scene. No one else was hurt.

Investigators are asking anyone with information to call the FBI at 754-703-2000.
