Florida reports nearly 180 new coronavirus-related deaths (FDOH)

Florida is reporting another 179 deaths related to the new coronavirus and 9,642 new cases Saturday.

This is the fifth day in a row that the state has reported more than 100 new deaths.

The total number of cases in the state is now at 480,028 with a total of 7,144 (that number includes resident and non-resident deaths). The number for non-resident deaths has also declined in the past two days. In the data report for Friday, there were 123 reported non-resident deaths.

The percent positive rate for Saturday rose slightly to 11.08 percent from a 10.56 percent in Friday's report.
