The former owner of the Orchids of Asia Day Spa and Massage has hired an attorney after days of what she believes to be misleading headlines and pictures of her with President Donald Trump that are now going viral.
Records indicate Li “Cindy” Yang sold the spa at least five years ago to the current owners who are now charged in the multi-county human trafficking and prostitution bust, though some believe that she’s the current owner.
“I think that could be misleading,” said Staci Thornton of Jupiter. “It’s a little odd that she’s in the pictures.”
When CBS12 News asked Angela Yusciewitz, who works next door, about the headlines and if some automatically believe she’s the owner and is involved in President Trump’s fundraising efforts, she said, “That’s what I would think.”
One of the high profile people arrested in the bust was New England Patriots owner Robert Kraft.
As for the pictures, Trump and Yang sit side by side, leaving some to ask how the two were connected.
CBS12 News asked Fran DeSevo of Jupiter about the headlines and if she believed Yang was the owner.
“Yes,” DeSevo said. “Is it?”
When CBS12 News told her it wasn’t and she was a former owner from years ago, she gasped and asked, “Are you kidding me?”
Yang has now retained Palm Beach Law Offices. They issued this statement:
““Palm Beach Law Offices has been recently retained to represent Cindy Yang and the abhorrent allegations. Our firm is reviewing all the relevant information. At this time, the evidence indicates that our client has been falsely accused in a manner that she may never recover from. Her name, her reputation and her honor have been destroyed. Cindy Yang seems to be another casualty, as a supporter of our president.” - Evan W. Turk, Esq.”
