Two people were shot during the football game at Palm Beach Central High School Friday night, the Palm Beach County Sheriff's Office said.
One victim was found on the property and the second was taken to a hospital by a friend, according to deputies. Both are being treated at the hospitals. One is in critical condition.
Both victims are adult men and not students in the Palm Beach County School System, deputies said. This was not the result of a current fight or random act of violence.
Palm Beach Central was playing Dwyer High School when the shots were fired.
The Palm Beach County School District said unaccompanied students were escorted to the bus loop by law enforcement.
Dwyer student athletes boarded the bus and were escorted back to Dwyer High School, according to the school district.
CBS12 photojournalist Chris Hinson was live at the scene:
Palm Beach County School Police requested the PBSO Violent Crimes Division to take over the shooting investigation, the sheriff's office said. An investigation is now underway. No suspects in custody at this time.
