Tropical Storm Michael is about to move off the Virginia coast and become post-tropical. Damaging winds and life-threatening flash flooding is still occurring over portions of North Carolina and the Southern Mid-Atlantic.
Michael now has winds of 50 mph and is moving NE at 25 mph. Michael will begin to race NE across the Northwestern Atlantic Ocean on Friday.
Michael is expected to produce total rain accumulations of 3 - 7 inches across portions of Virginia, Maryland, Delaware, and southern New Jersey. Total rainfall accumulations will be lower across southern New England, ranging from 1 - 3 inches.
