The Palm Beach County Sheriff's Office is mourning the loss of one of their own.

Deputy Tammy Davis-Partridge passed away Monday, according to the coroner's office in Las Vegas. She died just three days after she married a local law enforcement officer.

“The Western Region Bureau and District 15 are saddened to report that Deputy Tammy Davis Partridge passed away," the sheriff's office said in a statement. "Please keep her family in your prayers."

Christopher Davis-Partridge, Tammy's brother, says his sister took great pride in her job and always went out of her way to help others.

"I got to do the father daughter dance with her because we don't have a father," he said. "And walking her down the aisle... when I was dancing with her, she was laughing and cracking up. It was typical Tammy. She was sweet, she was funny, she was the life of the party."

CBS12 News will update the story with more information as it comes.
