Authorities are testing a new non-lethal weapon to stop criminals.

It's called a BolaWrap.

The Volusia County Sheriff's Office joined other agencies at the Dayton Beach Police Department for a demonstration.

Sheriff Mike Chitwood volunteered for a test.

The tool is another option for deputies to safely take people into custody in certain situations.
