The CNN debate between Senator Bill Nelson (D-Florida) and challenger, Gov. Rick Scott (R-Florida), is being postponed.
Gov. Scott had asked for it to be postponed due to his response to the devastation from Hurricane Michael. In a letter to CNN, Scott said he "will have no time for campaigning in the next few weeks as he focuses exclusively on recovery efforts for the foreseeable future."
According to a statement from CNN, both campaigns agreed to the postponement.
The debate had been scheduled for Oct. 16. CNN said a new date and time will be announced soon.
