The Florida Department of Business and Professional Regulation approved St. Lucie County's request to reopen vacation rentals with safety guidelines in place, county officials said.
This means vacation rentals can be rented to guests right away.
“We are happy to hear that the State approved our plan and I know that vacation rental owners that rely on this income are ready to welcome guests and use this safe and responsible reopening plan for their properties," said Cathy Townsend, St. Lucie County Commission Chair and Chair of the Tourist Development Council.
St. Lucie County Administrator, Howard Tipton submitted the plan on Wednesday.
“I want to thank the Governor and the Department of Business and Professional Regulation for their leadership and quick response to our request to reopen our vacation rentals in a safe and responsible manner,” he said.
