Two girls attacked with machete in Lauderhill

Two girls are in the hospital following a machete attack in Lauderhill, and the father of one of the girls is in custody

The Sun Sentinel reported 47-year-old Dennis Reid slashed his 10-year-old daughter and the 17-year-old daughter of his estranged wife.

The attack happened near NW 44th Terrace. The road is closed between NW 12th and NW 11th Avenue.

No word yet on a motive.

The girls are expected to survive, the Sun Sentinel reported.
