Do you prefer having a real Christmas tree or an artificial one? How about one made of lobster traps?
According to our CBS affiliate WABI in Maine, 155 traps were used to make the tree. It's a Rockland, Maine tradition that goes back to 2003.
WABI also reports 2,500 white lights, 600 feet of natural green garland, and over 100 lobster buoys were used to decorate the tree.
The executive director of Rockland Main Street, Inc., Gordon Page, told WABI that the tree "is a monument to the local fishermen."
"This is a lobstering community, and we want to pay homage to those lobster fishing families and that's how we decided we should build a Christmas tree with lobster traps," Page told WABI.
