It is the big weekend for celebrating the luck of the Irish, and South Florida has a good list of choices for you to pick from. Here's just a few:
This celebration starts at 2 p.m. Saturday and continues to midnight. Expect live music, special beer releases at 2nd Street Bistro and Sailfish Brewing Company, Irish food, a vendor village, a children's area and a bagpiper from 8-9 p.m.
BandSandBrews 4th annual craft beer and music festival to educate and raise awareness for local ocean and environment conservation benefiting Teach the Beach Foundation is a great time for everyone at Carlin Park in Jupiter, FL. The event promises unlimited craft beer tastings from over 25 breweries with ticket purchase and live music . Food and beverages from food trucks (Guanabanas Food Truck, Dune Dog Food Truck, and Gilbert's Rib King BBQ).
Stuart's Second Annual St. Paddy's Block Party starts at 5 p.m. Friday and goes to the wee hours at The Crafted Keg, 444 Colorado Avenue. The block party includes a craft beer tasting of local and national brews, live music throughout the night, food trucks and traditional Irish cuisine from Ellie’s Downtown Deli.
Shamrock Fest is also happening in Stuart, 3 -9 p.m. Saturday at the Riverwalk Stage behind City Hall at 121 S.W. Flagler Avenue. The festival has live Irish music, green beer, Irish whiskey Irish food bagpipes and drums. There's also a children's area and a costume contest.
The St. Patrick’s Day festival and parade has moved from Old School Square to the Delray Beach Tennis Center located at 201 West Atlantic Ave. The pre-party fun will begin on Friday, March 15 at 5:30 p.m. with live music by South of Southern. The festival continues at 10 a.m. on Saturday, March 16 with the parade beginning at 2 p.m. During the day enjoy food cocktails, live music, entertainment, games, vendors and a kids area. The parade will take place Sunday, March 17 at 2 p.m. on Lake Avenue in downtown Lake Worth. The parade will benefit the charity “Wheels for Kids,” and a customized wheelchair will be donated at the event for a child in need. Info: 561-533-7395
Celebrate the Irish at Boynton Beach’s annual Blarney Bash located at 100 N.E. 4th St., Saturday, March 16 from 4 to 9 p.m. The festival includes interactive activities for kids of all ages, including a giant inflatable slide, bounce house, rock wall, video game trailer, face painting, balloon art, corn hole, giant Jenga, and much more. St. Patrick’s Day shenanigans in downtown West Palm Beach
O’Shea’s Irish Pub, located at 531 Clematis St., is going throwing its weekend street festival Friday, March 15 through Sunday, March 17. Throughout the weekend enjoy live Irish music with performances by the Aranmore School of Dance and bagpipers. The event also features street vendors, a “PADDYpalooza” kids zone by Rhythm & Hues, and nine bars. Food specials include shepherd’s pie, corned beef and cabbage, and bangers and mash.
