Cardinal Newman grad John Collins grew up all over the world, because his mom was active Air Force.
But he said during the NBA Draft process that West Palm Beach is his home, and Monday he was introduced in the new city where he will hang his hat.
Collins was in Atlanta, being welcomed as one of the newest members of the Hawks. Collins was taken with the 19th overall pick in last week's draft.
Collins is at the center of the Hawks' rebuilding process, and Monday he said he's very excited to begin his life as a pro. "It gets real right now," Collins said. "This is where I have to grow up and become a man. I officially have a job now, which is crazy for me to say. I'm ready to get to work, obviously there will be an adjustment period as a rookie, but I'm ready for it."
Collins said today he models his game after Paul Millsap, a Hawk big man who's currently a free agent.
