Florida Atlantic University Athletics announced on Wednesday that this Saturday's home opener against the University of South Florida (USF) at FAU Stadium has been postponed "due to issues involving the novel coronavirus".
The USF football team "paused" football activities on Wednesday after taking on Notre Dame last weekend, a team that's now dealing with a COVID-19 outbreak. The Bulls indicated that they were waiting for new coronavirus testing.
Meanwhile, 21 FAU players tested positive last week, forcing the Owls to postpone their away game at Georgia Southern. The Owls also lost their original season opener against Minnesota and their original home opener against Stony Brook because of COVID-19 scheduling issues.
FAU and USF are working to identify a future date for rescheduling.
