Marathon of golf raises money for kids' charities

Golf Marathon organizer Gary Collins

Golfers were out at Jupiter Country Club competing in the Marathon Golf event Monday, to benefit South Florida Children's Charities. The goal was simple - play as many holes of golf in one day as your physically able to.

Among the golfers at JCC included a group with the First Tee that was out before 7 this morning and featured a pair of Palm Beach Atlantic golfers, Alex Dowd and Tori Hays.

Last year organizer Gary Collins played 148 holes, and in all the event raised 210 thousand dollars for charity. This year, almost 60 golfers were participating in the event.

Also members of the Special Olympics of the Palm Beach County were out at Jupiter Country Club, including Jonathan Doring who played over 100 holes. The event concluded its 7th season.
