Without a specific team to prepare for this Sunday, the Miami Dolphins were working on themselves on Wednesday at practice, back to the fundamentals of football, and the little things try are hoping can lead to their first win of the season. The players will be in search of positive energy as they take the next few days off on their bye week, but many of the players say it’s linebacker Vince Biegel who provides positivity, even through four straight losses to start the season.
“Consistently, I’d say (Vince) Biegel,” says fellow linebacker Jerome Baker. “I mean he brings it every day. Sometimes it seems annoying l, but he brings it every day.”
“The most important thing about being a leader is being yourself,” says Biegel. “These guts are smart guys, and there’s guys who’ve been in this league for a long time, and the first thing they can spot is fakeness. When you start to be someone you’re not, they can spot them a mile away, so it’s really just being myself.”
“You never know what he’s going to say,” says fellow linebacker Sam Eguavoen. “But he’ll see a time when the energy in the locker room (and) he’ll just say something, and we are laughing at it or you want to be like yeah let’s do it. let’s have a good practice, I like that!”
The Dolphins will take on the Washington Redskins at Hard Rock Stadium next on October 13th.
