Despite just 20 golfers under par after the first round of the Honda Classic, Alex Noren and Webb Simpson still went low on Thursday. The pair carded 4 under 66s during a windy opening day at PGA National to take a one stroke lead after 18 holes.
Noren, the 16th ranked player in the world, is playing in just his second Honda Classic. The Swede spends some of his winter in Palm Beach County, and says he's still trying to figure out the Champion course. The former U.S. Open winner Simpson is playing in his first Honda Classic since 2011.
Their lead is a slim one - Daniel Berger, Justin Thomas, Morgan Hoffman, Mackenzie Hughes and Louis Oosthuizen all sit just one stroke back at 3 under par.
