Cardinal Newman's Tommy St. Julien awarded FNR's Scholar Athlete of the Year

Tommy St. Julien from the Cardinal Newman Football team has been awarded CW34's Friday Night Rivals Scholar Athlete of the Year. St. Julien was presented a five-thousand dollar collegiate scholarship from Richard Ryles from Rosenthal, Levy, Simon & Ryles Attorneys at Law.

"I plan on studying engineering," says St. Julien. "I might minor in architecture, and I might see if I can do accounting. But i'm just going to focus on being a bigger and better person."

"A college education provides him an opportunity that opens the entire world to him," says Ryles. "As a college graduate and as an attorney, I recognize that you can only play ball for so long. And to find a young man who's both a great scholar and an athlete is truly a blessing."

Tommy is one of eleven siblings, and lost his father when he was in the 8th grade. At that point he vowed to excel, both in the classroom and on the football field.

St. Julien excels in math, music and track & field, on top of his football accomplishments. He has 4 interceptions, 8 touchdowns and over 500 yards receiving for the Crusaders in his senior season.
