A new, yet familiar face, has the whistle in Loxahatchee.
The Seminole Ridge football program hired its third head coach in four years in February - and they chose a veteran coach for their program, someone who has been a high school coach for almost three decades.
Rick Casko now heads the Hawks, and was leading spring practice Tuesday afternoon in Loxahatchee. Casko has had two stints as the head coach at Glades Central - he's also been a head coach at Atlantic, John I Leonard and a high school in Georgia. Some of Casko's biggest successes came at Glades Central - going 58-15 in his tenures there.
What drew Casko to the Hawks - is the close-knit, middle class community of Loxahatchee and the Acreage.
Casko brought many of his former assistants with him - they'll look to lead a team that went 8-3 last year, but returns just one offensive starter.
