The biggest storyline heading into the final preseason game in New Orleans was who was not playing for the Miami Dolphins.
A large majority of the starters were not active, including quarterback Ryan Fitzpatrick, which fueled speculation that he would be the starting quarterback come the regular season. After the Dolphins 16-13 win over the Saints, head coach Brian Flores confirmed that speculation, officially naming Fitzpatrick QB1.
“After a thorough evaluation at OTAs, training camps and games, we felt that this was the best move for the team,” Flores said.
“I have more confidence in myself than anyone in the world," Fitzpatrick said.
Rosen said he found out before the game, was not feeling great about it, but that he fully supports his teammate Fitzpatrick.
“I wouldn’t say it’s a setback or hurdle to cross over,” Rosen said. “It’s just part of the journey.”
