Three strikes you're out, four balls take your base., over the fence is a home run.
Baseball has a clear set of rules.
Cancer, does not play by any rules. But that does not mean the two can't go together.
Tuesday the Suncoast and Royal Palm Beach High School baseball teams played each other at Roger Dean Stadium, to stand up to cancer. Each player held a sign pregame to honor someone they love that is battling, or has battled cancer. A catcher on the Suncoast team, Anthony Tagaste, lost his father to cancer last year, and that's what motivated the Chargers to put this game together.
Tuesday, Tony caught the first pitch from legendary major league pitcher Dennis Martinez, whose own daughter-in-law, is fighting cancer.
All donations from the game goes to benefit cancer research programs. Thunderstorms kept the game from finishing, but a make-up date will be scheduled.
